Since so many people have asked me HOW to make those cute little Blinkies I've decided to give you a quick tutorial for making your own Blinkies ... it's pretty easy and soooo much fun ...
HERE WE GO ... (click on screenshots for larger view)
First you will need an Image Editing Software - I use Adobe Photoshop - but Paint Shop Pro or any other Graphic-Program will do as well ...
Create a new document with the size of your Blinkie (I used 150 x 50 pixel ... but this is up to you) ...
Okey .... now in your empty document create your Blinkie by adding background, colours, embellishments etc. (just go to your fave scrapbook supply website - grab a screenshot by pressing "print" on your keyboard and then you can use those images for your Blinkie ... just start playing a little with your program ...
When your're satisfied with the look - save your document (for example blinkie1.jpg)! That's the first part of your Blinkie ...
Now use the document you just created to add something/remove something etc. ... this will be the second part of your Blinkie ... so all the changes you will do to the image will later be a part of the Blinkie ... add text or shapes or change the colours or the background-paper ... whatever you can imagine ...
Save this document (make sure you pick "Save AS ..." ... not only "Save" - because otherwhise your first document would be overwritten ...) ... name it for example blinkie2.jpg ...
Okey ... now it's up to you to create more different versions of your image or just stick with the two of them ... in this example above I've created 4 different versions of it ...
Now we'll get things MOVING ... for this EASY step - you can download many different (some free) programs from the Internet ... I use Animation Gif Wizard .... there's a free 30 Day Trial Version available HERE for downloading ... follow the instructions - install and start the programm ...
Now just click "Add Files" and pick your created jpg-files (ony by one) ... you can play around with the programm a little to make changes to the speed of the animation etc. - or just leave it as it is ... click on "Output" in the Tabs, choose the location to save your animated Blinkie and then click "Create Animated Gif now"!
That's it ... you're done ... easy - isn't it??? No magic - no hard work ... and no further skills needed ... just give it a try and play around a little and you'll see - it's easy and super-duper fun ... and now I can't wait to see all the lovely Blinkies you'll create ... :o)
If you have any further questions or need assistance - just drop me a line in the comments-section and I'll try my best to help you out ...
Okey ... I hope you enjoyed my little Tut and now - go - create!!!!
cool- thanks so much!!!

Like everyone else, I created the blinkie...beautiful, however I can't save it to tinypic. What do I do? The tut was great. Thanks so much...one more question, Ive seen some where the animation is from both sides like a window, can you do that on this program and how do I do it in photoshop in the image ready?

I tried this, using the banner of my blog and it didn't work! What am I doing wrong? How do you create a blinkie or button for an existing blog? Thanks!
